BARRE - BALLET BALL: Build, strengthen, lengthen, tone, and DANCE! Ballet Ball is the BREAKTHROUGH barre fitness class which combines an intense cardio, ballet barre based warm up leading into intense toning, core building, and stretching using the physio-ball as a partner. This combination works the butt, legs, torso, and arms to tone muscles and elongate the appearance of your body. Burn fat and sculpt your muscles in a fun and innovative dance setting! Ballet Ball is geared towards ALL! You do not need to be a dancer to get a dancer's body (60 minutes, please bring socks).
BARRE YOGA: A fantastic fusion of intense glutes and legs toning using the barre, followed by lengthening of muscles through yoga flow stretch (60 minutes, barefoot).
BASIC BOOTCAMP: This is an awesome introduction to weight training that focuses on the basics of form and proper body alignment. This is great for both beginners and seasoned individuals looking to increase strength, build muscle tone and bone density, and burn fat. The class consists of a circuit of stations including various free weight exercises, training equipment, and core work. This class will prep you for the Bootcamp Circuit class, which is similar, but adds some additional cardio work and more circuit stations (60 minutes, shoes required).
BASIC/INTRO YOGA FLOW: This is a great class to introduce the beginner to a well-rounded yoga practice. Designed for both the beginner and intermediate in mind, this class breaks down various yoga postures or asanas and incorporates them into an energetic flow. The evening classes are candlelit and provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere (60 minutes, barefoot).
BELLY DANCE FUNDAMENTALS SERIES (8wk session for $119): Discover the power of this ancient art form and connect with your inner goddess! Belly Dancing is perfect for every woman, regardless of fitness level. It strengthens and tones the whole body, with a unique focus on the core, trunk and pelvic muscles, and is excellent for increasing flexibility, joint strength and muscle density. When you register, you will register for the entire 8 weeks (60 minutes, barefoot).
BOOTCAMP CIRCUIT “booty shaping rounds of fun” a circuit of stations including various free weight exercises, training equipment, and cardio exercises to tone the body by building muscles and burning fat (60 minutes, shoes required).
CANDLE LIGHT YIN & YANG FLOOR YOGA “deep stretch, long hold connective tissue meditation” a floor/mat-based practice of gentle stretches combined with connective tissue targeting low back and hip postures that are held for several minutes; takes you into a deep meditational stage of greatness (60 minutes, barefoot).
CIRCULATORY & LYMPHATIC VIBRATING PLATFORM: The platform has a muscle contracting mode to tone and tighten and a circular vibratory mode to increase circulation. The session takes 10 minutes, can be combined with weights, and will help to increase your strength, support your lymphatic system, get blood and fluids and energy flowing and moving throughout to support overall health and progression with your fitness goals. The session is the same cost as a class, can be purchased in packages and used in conjunction with other classes that accept packages.
GENTLE YOGA: a calming soothing meditational and heart opening practice. Gentle and beautiful and light guiding (60 minutes, barefoot).
GENTLE YOGA, YIN & YANG: “gentle yoga - yin and yang” a floor/mat-based practice of gentle stretches combined with relaxing connective tissue targeting low back and hip postures that are held for several minutes; takes you into a deep meditational stage of greatness (60 minutes, barefoot).
HATHA YOGA, ALL LEVELS: Open to all levels, class is usually taught at several levels to accommodate every one's energy and physical levels. Class includes pranayama (breath-work), meditation, mudras, liberal use of props and wall. Modifications included. Beginners welcome (60 minutes, barefoot).
INTRODUCTION TO YOGA SERIES (Sessions run quarterly for 4 weeks each, $75 per session, includes mat rentals or 15% off yoga mat purchase): UPCOMING 2013 SESSIONS: Sundays - APRIL, JULY, OCTOBER. Beginning a yoga practice can be intimidating and overwhelming. If you think you are too inflexible, too old, too out of shape, too anything, this is perfect for you. To help you get started, we've created an introductory series. Each 4-class-series is designed to teach you the basics principals of alignment of yoga covering basic standing poses, forward bends, back bends and twists. When taken in sequential order, you will be prepared to enjoy all of the basic yoga classes. The classes will be comprehensive so when you register you will register for the entire four weeks (60 minutes, barefoot).
KIDS CLASSES: See Little Lotus, Young Yogis, West African Drum, and Mommy and Me.
LITTLE LOTUS (Preschool, age 3 - 5): This active and imaginative class for our beginning yogi's will include many fun activities to help build flexibility, social skills, and using our creative minds! Children can look forward to themed classes that will include games, stories, art, music/movement, and simple yoga poses and stretches. Please bring small yoga mat, towel, or blanket! (45 minutes)
MOMMY & ME - CRAWLERS (12 wks - 12 months, not yet walking): In this class moms will be able to take time to bond with their babies while still receiving the benefits of yoga for their postnatal bodies. Learn different poses to practice with your little one and meet mom's and other babies your child's age! Nursing, sharing stories, laughing, and bonding welcome! Feel free to bring a favorite toy or blanket for your baby and a yoga mat for you two to share (60 minutes).
MOMMY & ME - WALKERS (1 year - 3 years): Come to this fun and active class for moms and their toddlers! We will be performing a variety of yoga poses together as well as enjoying art, music and story time. Let's make some new friends and play silly games together! Please bring a yoga mat for you two to share! (60 minutes)
PILATES YOGA “fusion of pilates and yoga flow” a yoga flow warm up and cool-down with various pilates series integrated throughout (60 minutes, barefoot).
PRENATAL YOGA: a class designed for pregant women from 4 to 9 months of pregnancy to help pregnant women stay limber, tone the body and improve balance and circulation. In addition to physical benefits, prenatal yoga can help women develop increased mind-body consciousness by focusing on breath and relaxation whihc may also facilitate the labor process (60 minutes, barefoot).
RISE AND FLOW YOGA: Awaken your body and renew your mind! Start your day with this energizing blend of sun salutations, standing postures and yummy floor work (60 minutes, barefoot).
VEGGIE PROTEIN SHAKE: Varied veggies & fruit mixed with protein powder & coconut water or milk. Healthy, perfect to recharge, feed your muscle development and oh so YUMMY! Available during select times for donation!
WEST AFRICAN DRUM CLASSES (Adult Classes and Kids 8+): This drum class is great fun! The class will use the Djembe drum and you will learn some basic beats and fun drumming techniques! If you have a drum, bring it, but don't worry if you don't have one because we have some to share (1 hour and 15 minutes)!
WISE YOGA - Relax & Rejuvenate (Ages 50+ only!): Awaken your bodies power to Rejuvenate and Regenerate more energy, enhancing your physical well being, better circulation, mindful breathing, while gaining strength in muscles and bones, along with better balance, focus and concentration! YOGA SCULPT “awesome fusion of weights & yoga flow” a total body workout that combines light weights and cardio with yoga postures to target and tone specific muscle groups; builds balance, strength & sexy long lean muscles (60 minutes, barefoot).
YOGA THERAPY “awesome fusion of therapy & yoga” Taught by an Integrative Yoga Therapist, this therapeutic class is perfect for people who have pain, injuries, physical limitations and need to move at a slower pace. Taught in a safe and nurturing environment, this class addresses common issues like lower back pain, tight hips, sciatica, shoulder pain, stiffness in body, knee issues etc. We draw from principles of yoga therapy, adaptation of yoga poses, breath-work, meditation, mindful movements to reduce pain, find ease in your movements, circulate chi (prana), heal the injuries and restore the body-mind-spirit balance.
YOUNG YOGIS (Elementary, age 5 - 8): Our elementary age class will emphasize on learning to relax through breathing exercises and kid friendly yoga poses. Children will be able to express themselves creatively through art and music activities, We will also be working on strength and flexibility exercises and practicing healthy habits! Please bring small yoga mat, towel, or blanket! (60 minutes).
ZUMBA: Latin inspired dance party! (60 minutes, shoes required)
